My first pet died a while back. We got a Cocker Spaniel when I was like, 4, but when we moved to Texas six years later, we had to leave him behind with an older couple. He died when he was 16.. it was sad, because the husband died, then Scuffy the dog, and then shortly after the wife.. I guess I was lucky because by the time he died, I.. I still loved him but I hadn't seen him in 10 years.
It's hard, though =/
I wouldn't put him down just yet.. but I also wouldn't reccommend a kennel, especially if it's just a vet. Could someone look after him at your house? Putting him in a kennel might make him depressed and.. well. Make him just give up.
